Austin Tenders

The Rochester Jr Monarchs have upgraded their back end yet again with the signing of Ohio Blue Jackets defenseman Teddy Austin to a tender for the 2017-18 season.  Teddy has been a key factor to the 5th nationally ranked Blue Jackets season thus far as they prepare for their districts coming up.  Teddy and the Blue Jackets have only allowed 64 goals against on the season in the Tier 1 Elite League, which ranks 3rd amongst all other teams.

“Teddy is a big pick up for us.  He reminds me of myself from when I was playing. He’s not the biggest guy on the ice, but competes like no other, keeps the game simple, and can contribute on the offensive end as well.  He’s not afraid to throw his body around and plays a lot bigger than he is, which is a plus as well.  Teddy is also very mature for his age and will definitely be someone that we will be looking to for some leadership” said GM/Head Coach Dave Leaderer.

“I’m honored and excited to be apart of this organization and look forward to my development under Coach Leaderer with the Monarchs in the NCDC” added Teddy Austin.

Teddy is now the 4th tender signed to the Monarchs for the upcoming inaugural season of the NCDC division of the USPHL.  The NCDC division of the USPHL will have 11 founding members which are all located in NY, NJ, CT, MA, and NH, which is home to many of the top Division 1 and Division 3 programs in the country.  Stay tuned for some more signings and exciting news for the Rochester Jr Monarchs!
