Local Player Perna Tenders

The Rochester Monarchs are extremely proud to announce that local product, Chris Perna, has signed a USPHL NCDC tender for the 2017-18 season.  Perna, a native of Pittsford, NY, is one of the top 98’ birth year defensemen from Rochester that will be a big presence on the Monarchs blue line.

“Chris was one of many Rochester products that we wanted to get back to Rochester with the development of the NCDC division.  Chris has gotten many top college looks already in one year of Juniors, and I see a lot more coming his way this year with playing in front of schools every game. Chris has got good size and will be a presence in both the defensive zone and offensive zone.  I can’t wait to work with Chris this year and to be a part of his commitment process” said GM/Head Coach Dave Leaderer.

“Living away from home the past couple of seasons has been fun, but I learned there’s no bed like your own and missing your family and friends is inevitable.  I’ve wished that there could be a way for me to play great, competitive hockey in Rochester so local guys like me wouldn’t have to be scattered everywhere and moving away.  Now that there is, I couldn’t be more excited to be one of the first guys on board and hopefully bring more Rochester guys back, as well as keep guys here in the future.” – newly tender defenseman Chris Perna.

Perna is the sixth tender signed out of the eight available to the Monarchs.  Stay tuned for the other two tender signings via our twitter (@RochJrMonarchs) or Facebook page.
